This is the first meal I've ever documented this way. First reason, obviously, it's El Bulli man. Second reason, it's my birthday weekend extravaganza in Barcelona with Glyn and he's given me a pretty sweet little camera. A couple are blurry, dark, or too close because I was fooling around with all the exciting, new buttons. Oh, but they're not all bad...

That is the most unique meal I've ever seen!! I think my favorite title is "Parmesan Air with Muesli"... PS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)
How lovely. Post the picture of the two of you, as well. You almost make me want to spend the money to go out there.
Some of that looks absolutely delicious, absolutely bizarre, and absolutely vile... nonetheless, an event I only dream I could have experienced as well. What is an ackees?
Heather, thank you!
Neil, no way! But I'll send it to you if you like...
Alina, ackee is a West African fruit, looks almost like a pear on the outside but it's all white and spongy inside with only a few big black seeds. The only way I've eaten it before is in the classic, Jamaican saltfish with ackee. It's what looks like little orangey brains in the picture : )
What an incredible visual account of a most memorable meal!
Thank you for sharing!
WOW!!! You guys went to El Bulli!!!
Unbelievable! I definitely have to find a way to go there too. Curry and peanut capsules. How was that?
Happy Birthday!
Most of the pictures are AWESOME!! And with a brand new camera and no tripod either, nor special lights. You have done a fantastic job.
Ivonne, my pleasure, seriously!
Jimmeeee! Yes, write up is on the next post down. And thank you, just got your e-mail, expect a reply shortly. No I'm not in London yet, but I can't wait to get there, meet you in Holland, and eat your flipped--never tossled--rice with sambal and prei...mmm
oh pr that's a bit much, but thanks anyway. I love my new camera--and it holds a bazilion pictures! My last one only held 20; it wouldn't have got me through the meal! :) Em, tripod? Special lights? I won't even use the flash in a restaurant!
I love the shape of spherical mussels in my mouth. I mean the word, tho. I don't know that I'd care for the food so much.
hi martha & tejal - I'd love to see your list of 5 things to eat!
what the **** thats crazy food......and we want some......
Nezua, can't believe I didn't notice that before!
Cin, thanks! We'll get on it!
N&A, hey guys!
Dang, thats just crazy... Doesn't even look like food. LOL
Ooh, may have to make reservations there for next year!
Great pix, by the way. Really quite good.
